This five-hour workshop is appropriate for students (undergraduates and graduates), faculty, and staff who are interested in learning about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the making of digital maps. For students, it's a way to get an instructor-led taste of GIS before committing to a full length course. For everyone, it's a way to see what's possible with maps. The inaugural CADRE spring conference brings together a consortium of regional researchers and leaders interested in the advancement of the following: high performance computing, high speed networks, data analysis and visualization, creating and implementing data management plans, applying best practices for organizing data, and storing, archiving and sharing data once a project is completed.  Researchers and aspiring researchers (students, faculty and staff) from all disciplines are welcome to attend.
